Details

Manatawny Still Works is a premium manufacturer of the highest quality hand-crafted, small-batch spirits. Situated in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania on the banks of Manatawny Creek whose Lenape Indian name literally means, “where we drank liquor.”

Manatawny Still Works was developed to produce world class spirits with character in small batches. Our distillery is modern, but our practices are based on old world production with a reverent nod to the history of the region. From the Lenape Indians, whose name for the nearby creek we borrowed for our distillery to historical figures of importance, for whom we named some of our very first spirits. The spirit of Manatawny is focused on quality, but rooted in the past.

Our tasting room, “The Still Works” – allows customers and visitors to truly experience our brand first hand, it gives us a chance to create that emotional connection that they can draw upon when they are not here in the distillery. Whether it’s touring our facility, a bottling workshop, sampling our spirits or cocktails while sitting at the copper bar talking to me, or just standing and staring at the stills…it’s something that not everyone has done before – it’s unique. Our goal is to create that memorable experience that they never forget and tell others about.

We’re open to the public four days a week. Thursdays we open at 5:00 pm, Fridays at 3:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday…at 12:00. Except for Sundays, we’re open until 11:00 pm. We’ve been pleasantly surprised how well “The Still Works” has been doing – it’s definitely turned into the go-to spot in Pottstown. With our Food Truck Fridays and Live Music Series on Saturday nights, we’ve quickly become a local hot spot. The vibe is unique, there are no televisions…some background music playing, but it’s a great atmosphere. It’s bringing back what we call, the art of conversation. People come in and catch up on what’s going on and talk…it’s great to see people sitting back and enjoying our signature cocktails.

We’re open for bottles sales Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday….someone is always at the distillery so it’s not unusual for us to open the doors and let someone in to sample and buy a bottle. Unfortunately we’re not in the PaLCB’s Fine Wine & Spirits stores here in Pennsylvania, meaning the only place a consumer can purchase a bottle of our spirits is here at the tasting room. We continue to push that – but it’s not as easy as it sounds. We’re meeting with them again soon in hopes that they’ll bring us in for the next go round.

We do tours of our distillery on Friday afternoons, our Happy Hour Tour – at 5:30 pm. We also do tours on Saturday at 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00 pm and on Sunday, at 1:00 and 3:00 pm. It’s a great way to find out what happens, “…behind the barrels.”

Really enjoyed the tour – great insight in to how the distilling process is done and why. Okay, let’s be honest…the spirits are great, really enjoyed their signature cocktails, especially their Odd Fellows No.214 Gin. The staff is great, you can tell when people enjoy what they’re doing and pass on that enthusiasm. I’ll definitely be back.
